The art of Lucas Chute

I refine different techniques, shapes, and forms by doing lots of sketches and studies, most of them during subway rides on my travels around NYC. Sometimes, the ideas are translated onto larger, more refined, or more complicated pieces, consciously and unconsciously. Sometimes, the sketches are manipulated in scale and projected to make whole paintings and drawings, such as the pieces I did for Adam and Jamie, but most of them are just warm-ups and experiments. This is a collection of my favorites from the last 20 months or so.
